Title: Python Programming in Windows
Post by: Dan on January 01, 2013, 06:06:52 PM
Just as an aside, programming and testing can go much quicker in Windows, if you're using a windows machine...I am running win7 and trying to program to my rasp Pi thru a Raspberry Pi emulator (running on my windows machine)...You can download the latest (or earlier if you like) version of Python from http://www.python.org/download/ (http://www.python.org/download/) and this includes a windows version of IDLE, which is GREAT for Python development ... A windows version of lxml, for xml parsing functions, can be downloaded from http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/#lxml (http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/#lxml)

Thanks.  I had already had Python and IDLE installed on windows, I just couldn't find the lxml module to instal for it.  Thanks for the link.  It worked great first time.   When we start developing for the balloon project and start dealling with the GPIO's, I will have to program on the Pi to verify everythign works as it should.
